Pain, clicking, or popping when you are chewing?  You might have TMJD, or TemporoMandibular Joint Disorder.  Your TMJ is your jaw joint, but pain from TMJD isn't always just in your jaw. Many patients experience temporal headaches, migraines, or even neck pain. TMJ disorders often come as a result of trauma, but can also occur from prolonged repetitive use of the jaw, especially when one side is favored for chewing. Often times there is an imbalance in ligaments laxity, and muscle tension from side to side. This imbalance causes a regular chewing patterns, which lead to TMJ pain. Dr. Moriarty will assist you to determine the cause of your TMJ pain, then he will use safe and effective treatments to help you resolve your symptoms.
